Our favourites:
- Strolling around « Place du forum » and along the streets of the old part of town to admire the wonderfully preserved Roman architecture including the arenas (Roman amphitheatre), Roman theatre, Saint-Trophime cloister, baths of Constantine, the relics of Cirque Romain...
- Visit the Musée départemental de l’Arles Antique and discover the town's archeological collections (objets of everyday life including what is thought to be the bust of Cesaer, monumental statues, sarcophagus, elements of architectural, mosaics, amphoras...). To see and do nearby: the Hortus, a garden of Roman inspiration.
- Discover the Benedictine Abbey of Montmajour which was an inspiration to artists such as Van Gogh. The abbey is the fruit of eight centuries of history and architecture.
